Here are some of the news making headlines in December, 2014.

Laos government propose to import more foreign workers. With a shortage of up to 90,000 skilled workers, the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare suggests foreignlabour to fill jobs. Read more.

New draft law to reduce alcohol intake. Compared to other member countries of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), the people of Laos consume the most alcohol. Government preparing new draft law to address the issue. Read more.

Red Cross says more blood donors are needed. The international humanitarian movement Red Cross, asks more Lao people to donate blood. The business community will be invited to join in. Read more.

Sounds exciting that Laos might open its doors to foreigners who want to work there. Hopefully it's not only the Chinese they have in mind for the jobs, but farangs too :-)
