Any multinational corporations in Laos?

Hello

Do you know if there are any multinational corporations in Laos? It's not that I am going to apply for a job or anything, I'm just curious, and want to know :)

Re: Best way to learn Lao for the absolute beginner?

Just want to add a little of my own knowledge to this thread :-) One of my friends is married to a lady from Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. As I happened to speak to her this weekend, I asked her whether she understands Lao. She said that she cannot follow even a basic conversation in Lao, but one...

Re: Benzodiazepines in Laos without prescription?

I had no idea it was illegal to carry around this medication. I'll get a prescription from my home country then, to stay on the safe side. Thanks for the information - you might just have saved me from a lot of trouble :|

Benzodiazepines in Laos without prescription?

I usually take benzodiazepines to keep my anxiety down before a long flight. Do you know if this medication is easily available over-the-counter in a Lao pharmacy? Because in that case there is no need to bring it all the way from my home country.

Can foreigners own land in Laos?

I was wondering if I, as a foreigner, can own my own land in Laos, and what are the restrictions if any?

Re: Exchange to kip before going?

Some branches of Bangkok Bank in Thailand will in fact exchange Kip to Thai baht, however I'm not sure this is advertised anywhere  The notes must be 10.000 or more, and you should not expect to get the best exchange rate. Myself, I exchanged 500,000 Kip for around 1,750 Thb, which is acceptab...

Re: Do's and Don'ts in Laos?

Lao people are generally very friendly and forgiving, and don't expect foreigners to understand their culture and religion. So don't get too hung up on learning a long list of do's and don'ts ;) However some absolute no-no's are : - wearing shoes inside temples. Always park your shoes outside like e...
