Re: Buying property in Laos?

I'd be interested in knowing this as well. Everything else is so affordable in Laos, I would image that housing is as well. It seems like it would be a great spot to own a vacation home.

Thanks for posting these! They'll be very helpful. I'll have to review them several times before my trip.

Re: Where is this place?

That looks so cool! $6 is a great price to get to see the natural wonders of a cave such as this. If it's a $1 entrance fee to get into the caves, are they walk-able in any parts, or can you only go by boat?

That's such a beautiful picture! I can't wait to see it in person! The water looks crystal clear.

Oh, that's too bad. There is still so much to see in Laos though. :) So many large, beautiful trees and mountains.

Re: Vegetarian in Laos

Oh my gosh! That bread looks awesome! Is French inspired food like this more expensive than traditional Lao food?

Are there a lot of bonsai or penjing in Laos?

For those of your who have been to Laos, have you ever seen bonsai or penjing (the Chinese version of bonsai) there? I love bonsai, and thought it would be really cool to see some authentic Asian ones. What are the best bonsai places to visit in Laos?

That's good to know. I wouldn't go anywhere alone at night. Its too risky.

Must visit restaurants?

Do you guys have any dining suggestions? What are the best restaurants in Laos that are reasonably priced as far as American dining expenses go? I wouldn't want to spend more than about $12 USD for dinner. I'm not picky about food, and I'll try almost anything.

Re: Renting a motorcycle

Renting a motorcycle sounds like so much fun! I've never driven one, but I'm sure I could get the hang of it. Are motorcycle rentals expensive there?
