Word of the day is Flower.

Did you know that the national flower in Laos is the yellow-white Dok Champa (frangipani). You'll see the flower everywhere in Laos, and to the Lao people the meaning of the flower is sincerity and joy in life.

Word of the day is Hotel.

"oo" is pronounced like "o" in the English word wrong, and "ee" like "e" in guess.

Did you know that the first 5-star hotel in Laos was the Lao Plaza Hotel. It has 142 rooms and is located in Vientiane's main shopping area.

Word of the day is to love.

love - hak - ຮັກ

If you want the noun love instead, put khwaam (ຄວາມ) in front of the verb, and you get khwaamhak ຄວາມຮັກ.

By the way, this method of inserting khwaam in front of a verb to make it into a noun goes for lots of Lao words.
